Morehead State University Admissions
Applications to the undergraduate programs are accepted with no set deadline and have no application fee. In addition to the application form, students must provide transcripts and test scores. Required pre-college coursework includes four credits of English, three of mathematics, three of science, three of social studies, one half year of health and one half year of physical education, two years of a foreign language, one year of history and appreciation of visual and performing arts, and five years of electives with the recommendation that at least one be in computer literacy. Applications can be submitted on-line. Additional departmental applications are required in nursing, radiological science, and veterinary technology programs.
Graduate students must provide the following for admissions to the graduate school: application and GRE scores (or GMAT for the MBA program). Students should have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on all undergraduate work. Additionally there are requirements specific to each program.
Morehead State uses its own version of an Admissions Index to determine eligibility for admission. Applicants can calculate their own Admissions Index by adding 100 times their high school grade point average to 10 times their ACT score. Students must have an Index of 400 to be admitted unconditionally. Students whose Index falls between 350 and 400 can be admitted but on a provisional basis. MSU does not accept any ACT score below 14. Applicants must supply a high school transcript, test scores, and a complete application before being considered.
